Rick began skippering in New Zealand in 1978 and launched his first charter vessel Pursuit in 1987, Since then Rick has built a second Pursuit and will be saying goodbye when he retires at the end of the 2018/19 season. Rick spends an average of 230 days a year at sea between East Cape and the Three Kings islands of New Zealand. Our last charter trip onboard Pursuit was to the Ranfurly Banks which is situated south east of East Cape, New Zealand, we were graced with perfect weather, exceptional fishing and couldn’t have written a better script to document and celebrate this Salty Gentleman.
