FIVE SALTY ESSENTIALS WITH: TONY WOOD ~ MOOCHER HUNTERS - J.A.F FAMILY

INTRODUCING ~ TONY WOOD

Tony is a very keen land-base fisherman hailing from Waiheke Island in the Hauraki Gulf; he is very passionate about catch and release and the founder of Moocher Hunters. Moocher Hunters is a platform for the annual Moocher Hunters Catch & release comp and fishing content that Tony creates. Tony is a massive influence on the new generation of anglers, and we are super honoured to have him a part of the J.A.F family. Here are Tony’s Five Salty Essentials which are a must for his missions on the bricks.

ANGLER TECH DRY BACKPACK

The ultimate land based lure backpack - waterproof, super durable, comfortable and roomy enough to carry all of the essentials. Best of all this bag comes with a side pocket & strap which is perfect for quick access to my moocher mat. I have had mine for 3 years now and it's still going strong.

THE CREWMAN SHORT

These shorts are perfect for summer time rock hopping. light, quick-drying material makes it all good to go for a swim when releasing fish. Magnetic lock shorts are a phone saver. Perfect for a few gooseys in a game of touch rugby too.

HARBOURAGE JACKET 2.0

This Jacket has so many well placed pockets - go for an explore around the rocks and carry your phone, spare packs of soft baits, leader, line clippers you name it. Waterproof with fleece lining it keeps me warm even in the crispiest southerly. It's the sort of jacket that you were stoked to inherit from grandad and is still a favourite.

MOOCHER MAT

80 is the new 20. No need to take that big moocher home to weigh it - just a quick measure and then back in the drink they go. I never go fishing without it.

COFFEE / FLASK

The ultimate fish-raiser. A coffee stop will always guarantee a run on a big snapper bait. It's hard to beat sipping a hot coffee as the sun rises on a chilly winter morning.
