After talk of good squid pushing into the inner gulf some of the Just Another Fisherman crew jumped on-board Luke Davis boat Catch Me for a mid week squid mission around Waiheke Island. The plan was to fish dusk and see if we could get some cool photos of these awesome critters with the new Calamari Killer J.A.F gears and some new rods from Yeehaa Tackle.

First hour was slow but when the sun disappeared we were welcomed by packs of angry squid hitting lures just below the surface, the bite lasted a hour with double and triple hook ups. We ended the night with 23 squid in the live-bait tank including a horse which Luke got, weighted 1.25kg and had a 33cm mantle.
