Took the J.A.F office to the Hauraki Gulf this morning. I was greeted with 5knot variables and being Monday there was not a soul in sight and more importantly, i had the place to myself with only one boat visible on the horizon. I have fished a lot in AK over the last three years but today might be the best snapper session I have ever experienced. After a 6km paddle to the spot, I was greeted with huge schools of hungry snapper.
In only three hours fishing from the Yak I caught 21 snapper up to 17.5lb. I kept 4 fish for the table and paddled back in glassy conditions with a peaking smile.
